Margaret is a product of Washington, DC, where she played flute in the Police Boys & Girls Club Band and guitar in a band called Tuscadero, which allowed her to tour the nation and avoid getting a real job. She has met both Bill Clinton and Jimmy Walker.

She studied illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work has appeared on everything from garden gloves to comics to her own line of children’s wear, Winter Water Factory.

Today she lives and works in Brooklyn, New York, in a home strategically located between an Ikea and a cemetery. Her favorite animal is the warthog and her favorite monkey is her son, Felix. She enjoys fiction and dumplings. Her crimes include wrecking a moped in Thailand and opening for Cheap Trick.
